I had a very disappointing experience with this rental and would not recommend this vehicle or this host.
During our trip to Texas, we experienced a flat tire while driving through a remote area. I immediately contacted the host, who advised us to take the van to a tire shop. Unfortunately, we were stranded with a disabled vehicle in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere, and when we contacted Turo roadside assistance, we were informed that no nearby service providers were available to assist us.
My family and I had to change the tire ourselves as best we could. After replacing it, the van’s battery died, leaving us stranded again. We contacted Turo a second time but still did not receive assistance. Thankfully, two passing motorists stopped to help us. As a result, we lost approximately 4–5 hours of our trip.
Once we arrived in Texas, we had the tire inspected and replaced at our own expense, costing approximately $200. The mechanic expressed serious concerns about the condition of the vehicle, stating there was significant rust on the wheel studs and even on the spare tire hardware. He advised that the vehicle should have been inspected before being rented and indicated that the condition could have created a serious safety hazard.
The host apologized for the inconvenience and stated that we would be reimbursed for part of our trip expenses, including the tire replacement. Based on those assurances, we extended our rental by one day through Turo and paid the additional rental cost.
Later in the trip, we were pulled over twice because the license plate light was not functioning. Fortunately, we only received warnings, but it added unnecessary stress and inconvenience.
At the end of the rental, when we followed up regarding the promised reimbursements, both the reimbursement for the tire expense and the partial trip reimbursement were denied. We were told the issues were simply bad luck and that no compensation would be provided.
I will say that the host was responsive to messages throughout the trip, and I appreciate the timely communication. However, the overall experience—including the vehicle issues, lack of effective roadside assistance, lost travel time, unexpected expenses, and the failure to honor the reimbursement that had been discussed—made this an extremely stressful experience for my family.
I encourage future renters to thoroughly inspect the vehicle before beginning their trip and to carefully consider this experience when making their decision.

-Tires get flat, spare was available with jack. Could have used the original bolts on other wheel instead of ones at bottom of car.
-battery died because you left the lights on while the vehicle was off while trying to repair. You admitted.
-instead of bringing to tire shop after putting on like I requested. You drove all the way to Texas with improper installation. Causing damage to studs and wheel. Now we need new wheel because you can’t follow simple instructions. So therefore no refund..bye

Great Host.
