I had booked a truck through Turo, familiar with the booking process and the option to get it dropped off without contact. However, on the day and time of the delivery, there was no truck waiting for me. I reached out to the owner, hoping for assistance, but he just responded by circling the pickup location and time.

I couldn’t get to the truck until the next day and was denied a discount or a short extension. When it was time to return it, I faced another issue coordinating rides and had to extend my trip. The next day, I was set to drop it off but became too sick to drive. Once again, I had to add an extra day, and the owner didn’t respond.

While I understand that these issues aren’t something Turo owners can control, I felt like I would be treated better at a corporate rental agency.

The truck itself was too large for my needs, with more seating than hauling space. I had a home charger, and the owner mentioned a charger adapter in the truck. However, it was specifically designed for super chargers, not home chargers, so I had to rush to charge it before returning it.

While the truck and owner weren’t entirely responsible for the delivery issues, I’m sure I did something wrong or there was a glitch, the owner was consistently unhelpful or sympathetic to an almost comically unfortunate series of events on my end.

Loved the truck! Fernando was helpful and accommodating. Would definitely rent again.
