Communication was effective, vehicle was where it should be and drove well there were some maintenance issues that were not taken care of prior, but they did not affect the trip.

I booked this vehicle with an expected ready time of 9:30 AM, but when that time arrived, the car was still not prepared or available. The host subsequently set the vehicle status as ready for 10:00 AM, which appears to have been a deliberate attempt to avoid being penalized by Turo for a late delivery. I was not contacted until 10:16 AM—well past the 30-minute grace period—at which point I was informed the car was ready, but not at the originally agreed-upon location.

Communication throughout the process was poor and inconsistent. I received multiple conflicting updates, including claims that they were “preparing the car” or “filling up with gas,” and was repeatedly instructed to meet at passenger pickup. After waiting there for approximately 30 minutes, I received a call claiming they had passed the location and did not see me, which is inaccurate; I had been there the entire time and observed the same vehicles passing repeatedly.

The host then stated they had left the vehicle roughly 200 yards away from the agreed meeting point. When I eventually located the car, it had been left unattended at the curb with the hazard lights on. A police officer was already on the scene inspecting what appeared to be an abandoned vehicle, and I nearly received a ticket as a result of the host’s actions.

Overall, this experience involved significant delays, misleading communication, and an unprofessional vehicle handoff that created both severe inconvenience and unnecessary legal liability.
