Great truck. Host very responsive. Great trip overall.

This is a work truck. Looks ok from afar, but it’s all scratched up and rides rough. Hosts communication was not great and we had to wait an hour at the airport to get directions on where the truck was. Wouldn’t recommend.

Great communication

I am not even sure where to begin with this rental experience. This was my first time using Turo, and unfortunately, this experience has left me extremely disappointed and concerned.

1. Lack of communication and incorrect location information: Alexander did not respond to important messages when I was attempting to locate the vehicle. I was given an address through the chat that was different from the address listed on the reservation. As a result, my family and I traveled to both locations trying to find the vehicle.
2. Vehicle was not where I was told it would be: Once I finally arrived at the correct location, the vehicle was not parked in Row 1 or Row 2 as I had been instructed. It was parked along the wall at the farthest end of the lot, creating even more unnecessary confusion and frustration.
3. Windshield washer fluid needed attention: Shortly after beginning the trip, I discovered the vehicle needed windshield washer fluid.
4. Low coolant: The coolant level also needed attention. This is something I would expect to have been checked before a rental vehicle was provided to a guest.
5. DEF fluid was needed: The vehicle also required DEF fluid. When I contacted Alexander about this, his response made me feel as though taking care of it was simply expected of me. There was no apology, thank you, or immediate offer to reimburse me for having to address a maintenance item on a vehicle I was paying to rent.
6. Tire pressures were inconsistent: The tire pressures were significantly inconsistent and had apparently not been properly checked before the vehicle was rented to me.
7. Charging ports were not functioning properly: The charging ports were in such poor condition that a charging cord would not stay securely connected.

This was easily one of the most stressful rental experiences I have had. I rented a vehicle because I needed reliable transportation for myself, my daughter, and my family—not because I expected to spend my trip identifying and addressing basic maintenance issues on someone else’s vehicle.

What concerns me most is that several of these issues should have been discovered during a basic inspection before the vehicle was made available for rental. I routinely monitor a vehicle’s dashboard and warning indicators, which is how I noticed these problems. I should not have had to be the person discovering that a rental vehicle needed fluids and had inconsistent tire pressures after I had already taken possession of it.

This goes beyond inconvenience. I trusted that a vehicle being rented through Turo had been appropriately maintained and was ready to be driven. Instead, I was placed in a position where I had to question whether the vehicle was properly maintained while transporting my family.

I am requesting that Turo review this rental, the vehicle’s maintenance condition, my communications with Alexander, and the expenses/inconvenience I experienced as a result. I would also like to know what resolution Turo is prepared to offer, including reimbursement for any maintenance-related expenses I incurred and appropriate compensation for a rental experience that was substantially different from what I reasonably expected when I made the reservation.

This experience has seriously affected my confidence in using Turo again. I am not looking for a generic apology. I would like these concerns investigated and addressed, particularly because another renter could receive this vehicle under similar conditions.
