Car was in good condition, handled well, and left nothing to be desired. Tacoma said it averaged 21 mpg, I am not so sure about that. Besides that, great ride, Toyotas never disappoint.

When all was said and done, I was left disappointed after this rental. I came to the island for my own wedding and needed a truck. At first the rental was great…
The truck it self was new and in good condition and clean upon first impression. It was mechanically sound and the pickup was easy per usual with turo on Kauai.
Shortly after picking up the vehicle I noticed a couple roaches inside. Upon further inspection, I found that there were many more. I reached out to the owner and informed them of the situation. I asked if I could try to spray the bugs or return for another vehicle hoping there were other options. When I checked, no more pickups were available between turo and rental companies. The owner stated I could just bring the vehicle back or spray the bugs. I needed the truck so I went to a hardware store and bought traps for the truck. I set out three traps inside the truck under the seats. As days went on I checked the trap. To my horror I had found maybe a hundred cockroaches between the three traps.
Overall, knowing the truck was infested with roaches made the trip very uncomfortable, especially being there for my own wedding. At the end of the trip I requested any sort of reimbursement for the inconvenience and was simply ignored. Paying full price for a vehicle infested with cockroaches doesn’t seem right to me. It was unfortunate that there were no like kind trucks for rent either so I was stuck with the truck as I needed a truck bed.
The host was responsive up until I asked for reimbursement which was unfortunate as well.
