Two issues. 1) Flat tire due to faulty plug of an old puncture that failed — issue occurred within a few days; I fixed it myself. 2) Battery couldn’t supply enough power to start the car after multiple jumps — issue occurred within a few weeks; I had an auto shop diagnose it.
Turo forced me to end the reservation early and towed the car. The flat was inconvenient but fine. The battery issue could not be resolved without the host’s involvement — Turo doesn’t authorize or facilitate battery replacement.
No hard feelings toward the host. I understand older cars have problems. But it was ultimately a disappointing experience. Assuming the issue is resolved, this car is probably one you would want to rent for shorter trips, dump runs, moving house, etc. For the record, flat tire and starter issues aside, it drove great!
