Cadillac Escalade ESV

Host was very accessible and responded quickly to any and all concerns. There were a couple of minor issues, which have been mentioned in prior reviews. The front headrest speakers make clicking noises which did not resolve even with readjusting speaker settings. It was annoying to constantly hear, but not a major problem. Another issue was the mild smell of smoke. It is mostly concealed by some type of fragrance but still noticeable at times. The vehicle also does have mild shuttering when accelerating from 0-25. This was mostly resolved by putting in 2WD mode.
Overall a good experience, and would rent again.

I rented this Escalade for a 15-day family vacation but unfortunately had to return it after only 2 days because it was not drivable for our family. The biggest issue was an overwhelming odor of cigars and cigarette smoke throughout the entire vehicle. The smell was deeply embedded in the seats and came through the air vents every time the A/C ran. My children and I experienced coughing, sneezing, and irritation, making it very uncomfortable to be in the vehicle.

In addition, the engine appeared to have a noticeable misfire or hesitation when driving below approximately 20 mph, which further affected the driving experience.

The host was kind, responsive, and handled the return professionally, and I appreciate that. However, I don’t believe this vehicle should have been rented in its condition. Because of the smoke odor and mechanical concerns, we had no choice but to return it 13 days early and find alternate transportation. I hope these issues are addressed before it’s rented to another guest.
