Overall, I had a great experience with the LYRIQ! The vehicle was beautiful, extremely comfortable, spacious, and very enjoyable to drive. The host was kind, responsive, and accommodating throughout my trip, and I truly appreciate him allowing me to enjoy his vehicle.
The only difficulty I experienced was with Turo itself rather than the host. Due to pre-existing cosmetic damage from a previous trip, I was unable to extend my reservation through Turo when I needed additional time. I wasn’t aware that this would prevent an extension until my trip was already underway. Had the extension been available, I would have gladly paid for the additional rental time. That’s something renters may want to keep in mind when using the platform.
Also, for anyone accustomed to traditional gas vehicles, definitely plan ahead when renting an EV for a road trip. Charging can sometimes take an hour or longer depending on the charger, and charging availability can be very limited in smaller towns. Some stations are also significantly slower than others, so build extra time into your trip and map out fast-charging locations beforehand, especially when traveling through areas with limited EV infrastructure.
None of that takes away from the vehicle or the host, though. The LYRIQ was a great ride, the host treated me well, and I’d absolutely give him five stars. Thanks again!
