The pickup process was extremely easy, and the vehicle was clean and in great condition. I was originally given a hybrid CR-V, but midway through the rental I received a call from the host explaining that I had somehow picked up the wrong vehicle and needed to swap it for a non-hybrid model. Since the key is accessed through a lockbox on the vehicle, I wasn’t sure how the mix-up happened, and the mid-week swap was definitely an inconvenience.
Initially, there was some confusion about whether I would need to refill the gas tank on both vehicles, but after discussing it with the host, he clarified that I would only need to fill the tank on the vehicle I returned at the end of the rental. The swap itself was handled quickly, and the replacement CR-V was also clean and drove well.
The host provided excellent return instructions, and drop-off was smooth and hassle-free. While the vehicle swap was noteworthy and could have been a much bigger issue if I had been farther away, the host communicated well and worked through the situation fairly. Overall, I’d rent from him again and would just hope a mix-up like that doesn’t happen on a future rental.
