Great host to work with

First, I want to mention the positives. I’m grateful the host allowed me to rent the vehicle on very short notice. My previous rental experienced mechanical issues, so this was truly a last-minute booking, and the host responded quickly and made the rental available immediately. I appreciate the responsiveness and accommodation.
That said, the vehicle itself was in very poor condition. It appeared to be extremely old, with approximately 115,000–120,000 miles. The car shook noticeably while driving, had a check engine light on, and smelled very strongly inside — either like weed or an overpowering cologne. The odor was bad enough that I had to purchase air fresheners during the rental.
Additionally, there was no windshield wiper fluid, and the windshield wipers were essentially worn out and scraping against the glass, which was especially concerning because it was raining.
Overall, the car felt like it was at the end of its usable life and, in my opinion, should not currently be rented in this condition. I was honestly surprised by how poor the overall condition of the vehicle was.
The host’s responsiveness and willingness to help with a last-minute rental are the reasons this experience was not rated even lower. However, I would strongly advise the owner to replace or significantly repair the vehicle before continuing to rent it out. Unfortunately, I would not recommend renting this car in its current condition.

There are no check engine lights, this vehicle is inspected by our mechanic on a weekly basis to ensure the car is safe, mechanically sound, and in great condition!
The fact that you went out of your way to write so many negative things and did not mention a SINGLE ISSUE the entirety of your trip!

Car quality was good and the host was very friendly and helpful. The Bluetooth disconnected at each stop and was a bit difficult to reconnect each time.
