Nice car friendly host

The washer fluid was not charged and the key was not properly instructed where it was.

I had this car for four weeks and from the moment I rented it the host provided poor service. I got no message with instructions on pickup. When I went to pick up the car I had to reach out to him once I was close to get pickup instructions and he told me his mom would give me the keys so I had to go to the front door and ring the doorbell. I’ve been renting on turo since 2018 and I’ve never had to go to the host front door. The gas tank wasn’t full when I picked it up either. Then about 3 weeks into having the car I was driving and the rearview mirror fell while I was driving. I pulled over immediately, took a photo and sent it to the host. His only response was “we’ll figure it out”. He did nothing to try and come up with a solution. It’s dangerous and illegal to drive without a rearview mirror. I suspected that it was a manufacturing issue because I have never in my 39 years had a rearview mirror just fall like that in a car, but the host proceeded to imply that it was my fault. I wasn’t able to drive the car for three days because I didn’t want to get pulled over or cause an accident because I can’t see behind me. It’s been a nightmare since I returned the car with the host being unprofessional, combative, and trying to get me to pay for something that was not my fault. I’m not sure how I could possibly be at fault for something like a rearview mirror falling. I’m used to having very proactive and professional host. This was honestly my worst experience.

Had an awesome experience renting Alex’s Crosstrek. The car was super clean, drove great, and was perfect for our trip. Pickup and drop-off were easy, and Alex was really friendly and quick to communicate the whole time. Going to be renting from him again!
