I want to start off by saying the host was not rude at all. My rating is based solely on the vehicle. Booked the vehicle and then received a call from the host stating that he didn’t have that vehicle available but has other vehicles that he use through his business and he used Turo as a third party. Which already made me feel uncomfortable due to some many issues that other ppl had had not using the app and communication thread through Turo. I did let him know I didn’t feel comfortable using his private company and would only keep my booking through Turo. He did let me know he would try his hardest to get me the car I booked for. So I reached out before the time of arrival to make sure if j would have a rental if not I needed to know to get another rental. So he confirmed rental got to my address ahead of time. Prefect no issues. Then I drove the car to fill up the tank as it only had a 1/4 a gas tank (which fine whatever). That’s when I noticed the brakes were squeaking more and more even If pressed lightly on the breaks. Mind you I know cars and have changed my brakes on my cars. So I reached out to the host to let him know what issues were happening. He then told me he just changed it and it was odd. I responded to him and let him know that I know about cars and the brakes were not just changed as they also started grinding when breaking more and more. Did not feel safe to drive the car due tit the brakes! We only drove to San Diego to drop our son off to college and back the breaks were so bad they were getting bad and bad! I have rented with Turo before and have had great and amazing experiences and never give a bad review but this time it was really bad it didn’t feel safe and worried every time we had to break.
