I rented this Forester to take my parents to Yosemite, and the car wasn't ready for the trip. The A/C didn't work, even after following the host's instructions, so we spent two hot days sweating while driving. On the mountain roads the brakes started making a loud grinding noise and smelled burnt, which felt unsafe. Next evening the car wouldn't start, and the host told me the battery had recently been replaced and was still causing problems.
Elbert answered messages and came out quickly to get the car running, and I appreciate that. But this car needs maintenance on the A/C, brakes and battery before anyone takes it on a long drive or into the mountains.
