Cadillac Escalade ESV

Overall fair vehicle during optimal engine performance.

Booked the Escalade for a family trip to the coast. Me and my wife were waiting 30 mins in the heat, calling the host to unlock the vehicle at pick up.

The next day at the coast, the engine light comes on and the vehicle’s power is reduced to about 40mph. There is no recourse from Turo support and the host. The best “solution” I was given was to have the vehicle towed back, without means of transportation back home, as turo doesn’t offer one way rentals. Or take the vehicle I was renting to a dealership for service on my family’s vacation.

By some miracle after giving the vehicle a break, the engine light went away. We withheld the towing option and proceeded with our trip. After this occurrence I was hesitant to drive my family anywhere in the vehicle from this point forward, however had no other choice. Throughout the next couple days of the rental the vehicle would hesitate to start at times, however it did get us where we needed to go and back home safely!

Aside from the mechanical issue, for a 2018 with the excessive amount of miles on the vehicle, the interior was very clean, roomy, and well maintained!

I understand that this issue was out of the hosts control, and may not the norm for the host. However I would have expected Justin to be more prepared, beneficial and or accommodating when an issue like this arises during any trip! Especially as an all-star experienced host with all of the excellent reviews he has.

Host Justin was great and accommodating. His vehicle was beautiful and clean and in great mechanical condition. Definitely chose the right vehicle for our trip..

Very nice vehicle for the age and mileage. Some minor hiccups with the trip but nothing insurmountable.
