Beware-Jeep was very poorly maintained. Serpentine belt came off while driving and car started to overheat. Immediately messaged the host asking what they wanted me to do. Spoke to a woman on the phone (never James) who apologized and said they would get a tow out to us, not to worry, they have insurance. About 4 hours later the tow arrived. The tow company charged me $100 cash to get my family back to the place we were renting. Host stopped replying to any messages at this point when I told them about this. The host then put a claim in with Turo- saying that I drove too fast and got it stuck (not true), broke the belt (not true- was still intact, it came off what looked like a worn-down pulley) and ran the battery dead (not true- it was still starting when tow service arrived). Looking at the pre-trip pictures from the host, he/she loaded pictures from years ago. Among glaring differences, it had a permit sticker from 2023 in the windshield, full tire treads (they were basically bald) and the step sides looked brand new (both were heavily worn and rusted with the passenger side one nearly coming off). Went to pick up the jeep at 9am at the location given. No jeep there, it was also a rental property with a tenant who had no clue why I was there. Messaged host and they apologized that the current user still had it and was bringing it over. Got the keys from the previous user, so the host never checked anything out between trips. I should have walked away at this point. STAY AWAY- bad vehicle, worse host!

The Jeep was fantastic! It changes the OBX experience. The owner was courteous and prompt. The Jeep was easy to pick up and return. Thanks James!

This Jeep was everything you’d expect from a vehicle that’s lived its life right on the oceanfront unapologetic, authentic, and built for the Outer Banks. Driving it brought back awesome memories of a CJ-7 I had many moons ago. It was the perfect rig for OBX, and I’m glad it was available to complete our trip.

Everything went smoothly from pickup to drop-off. Would definitely rent again!
