Pick up was complicated. Host sent a map location that was incorrect. Also sent written instructions on location, but did not include how to gain access. Vehicle did not have the same license plate number as the vehicle in the photos. Could not reach host for over 45 minutes to confirm vehicle, or get instructions on how to enter. Had to call Turo for assistance. Turo could not reach host either. Turo agent finally gave me instructions on how to enter. Without confirmation of the vehicle (due to different license plates) I followed the instructions and gained access.

The windshield has a large crack across it uand the car smelled as if smokers had used it.

Will not use this host again.

The Subaru itself was great to drive. It was comfortable, the technology worked well, and overall the vehicle met our needs for the trip.

There were a few downsides that future renters should be aware of. When we first got in, the car had a very strong odor of vape smoke mixed with multiple air fresheners. The combination was pretty overwhelming and made the cabin smell unpleasant. The windshield was also cracked, which wasn’t shown in the listing photos.

We were also overcharged by nearly $40 when exiting the Sacramento airport parking garage. The owner is working with us to resolve the reimbursement, so I’m hopeful that’ll be taken care of. One other thing to note is that communication was fairly slow, with responses often taking 8 hours. That may have been because the owner was traveling internationally, but it’s still something prospective renters should keep in mind until they’re back.

Overall, I’d say the experience was slightly above expectations. The car itself was solid, but there are a few areas that could be improved to make the rental experience smoother.

Upon arrival. The vehicle was FILTHY! Inside and out. The front windshield was cracked right in the drivers view and also had a chip. Then leaving the airport parking lot we had to pay for 3 days parking totaling $32. We notified the host. He said he would reimburse us. For that as well as a car wash.
When we arrived at our family’s house I personally spent over an hour vacuuming the vehicle out and wiping down the surfaces and windows. I then had to drive to a car wash and pay for that car wash. We sent him receipts and he did not reimburse me the full amount of what we spent and certainly did not pay me for the time it took for me to clean HIS dirty vehicle.
His communication was poor as well as his excuses.
Do yourself a favor and book with someone else.

This car was so dirty inside. There was hair on the floor in front and back seat . There was a weird smell.. thank god I just needed it for one day. There also was a crack on the driver side front windshield. The check engine light came on this morning…
