The host was communicative and quickly responsive, friendly and easy to work with. Pickup location was convenient and mileage and price were great for the vehicle. Unfortunately, the Wrangler experienced a mechanical failure about 1 day into our trip, rendering the vehicle unable to continue use. Upon some Googling, the issue we experienced seems to be one common with the make/model/year of the vehicle rather than something caused by lack of maintenance or care. Vehicle was clean and in good condition, smelled nice and interior/exterior appearance was nice as well. But unfortunately, the gas pedal stopped working and the wrangler lost all acceleration and power steering, ending up with us coming to 0 mph/0 rpm on the freeway even though the engine and battery were still operating…resulting in us having to coast off the freeway, wait in the car for 2 hours on the side of the highway, and contact Turo for a tow of the vehicle. The owner was very responsive to the vehicle incident and Turo was also very responsive to resolve the issue, despite my initial stress around the matter. The longest wait involved the tow truck, and then of course the inconvenience of having to rent a new vehicle and not being able to continue our trip with the wrangler. Outside of the issue with the wrangler, I was very pleased with the host being responsive and communicative. Hopefully the car is repaired soon and in good condition for future drivers. As stated, this seems to be a common issue with 2015 Wranglers in general, and not this specific vehicle as a standalone issue. I wish the trip went off without a hitch, as I was beyond elated to drive a Wrangler, but it did throw quite a wrench into our plans. That said, the responsiveness of all parties was the best we could hope for, given the situation.
It is sad seeing a guest leaving a dishonest review just because she wanted to cancel the trip in hope of getting a full refund, thankfully Turo was fast to charging her for her false allegations.
