I rented this car based on its excellent ratings, but my experience was disappointing.
The interior wasn’t clean and there were handprints all over the inside of the glass. The exterior was also very dirty, with hundreds of dead bugs covering the windshield and front bumper.
More concerning, the lower engine splash shield had been repaired with duct tape. The tape was coming off, leaving the panel hanging down during my rental.
I wasn’t able to exchange the car, and the free Ajax Car Wash was closed, so I ended up cleaning the windshield inside and out myself before my trip.
Overall, this vehicle was not delivered in the condition I expected. In my opinion, 3 stars is actually generous. I was not happy with this rental.

As we explained several times, although we had another Ford Escape that had just been detailed, we were unable to switch your reservation to that vehicle because it had not yet been listed and made available for booking. The Escape you rented was the only vehicle we had available at the time. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
