Car quality was great. The host was amazing and he communicated well and explained away any worries I had and was easy to work with. I recommend this guy and if I end up renting from Turo again I will pick him for sure.

Check engine light came on the second time we started the car up, then proceeded to not allow cruise control to function at all. but we had already driven way away from the airport pick up then we realize that there was electrical tape covering the actual check engine lights inside of the dash then later realized that the AirTag was pinning us and notifying our phone Every time we try to start the car ( having an AirTag at all against Toro’s policy even if the host decided to tell us last minute at 11:30 at night when we were picking up the car ) the windshield has multiple chips in it. The windshield wiper barely worked. One was falling apart. The car had a completely damaged from bumper that was duct taped on and the host messaged as soon as we arrived in at 11:30 at night and was extremely dismissive telling everyone to go rent a car from an actual rental place if they were unhappy with what he offered which is ridiculous for the false advertising of his listed vehicle, but maybe if he followed the regular Turo guidelines there wouldn’t be an issue and kept his car up to Turos regulations and standards. And he has replied to many people with rent from the airport car. This is the first issue we’ve ever had with someone on Turo. Just because the house communicated issues with the car as soon as we got there does not dismiss the fact that the car should not be rented in this state. Yes we can rent from the airport, but I’m not turning my trip around last minute at midnight because you can’t keep your car maintained. I’ve dealt with Subaru before the Subaru was driving when we were hours away by the time she started popping up. This isn’t simply a matter of preference. It’s a lack of responsibility and maintenance. And if you’re gonna tell people off to rent a car from the airport disclose that your car isn’t worthy of renting in your actual description on Turo.

Andres's response

The check engine light, along with every other warning light, appears when the vehicle is in accessory mode. The vehicle must be fully running with the RPMs above zero to properly check if the light is active. Our vehicles are equipped with two GPS trackers and a kill switch. Unfortunately, I cannot control guests leaving personal items like keys, AirPods, or AirTags inside the vehicle. The bumper damage was caused by your off-road driving, and the Moab trip resulted in the cracked windshield.

Great trip!

Car was clean and in good condition. Honestly the host made it a five, made the whole process easy to follow and gave very clear instructions/expectations.
