Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this host.
This vehicle is presented on Turo as a luxury car, so I expected a much higher standard of condition, cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service.
The car did not appear to have been properly checked before the rental. The massage seat, which was one of the main reasons we chose this vehicle, did not work at all.
When I contacted the host, his solution was simply to return the car. We had just flown about 6 hours to SLC, arrived around 10:30 PM, and already had a full road trip planned with hotels, attractions, driving routes, and a schedule. Returning the vehicle at that point was not a practical or helpful solution.
The car was also not clean. There was an extremely strong amount of air freshener inside, which made it seem like it may have been used to cover an unpleasant smell.
The vehicle felt old and poorly maintained, and the fuel consumption was terrible. It used a very large amount of gas. For a vehicle being presented as a luxury car on Turo, this was especially disappointing.
Communication was also very poor. Some of my messages were ignored, and the replies I received often felt dismissive rather than helpful.
When I continued to raise my concerns, instead of focusing on the issues with the vehicle, the host suggested that I was only looking for compensation in exchange for not leaving a bad review. I found that response inappropriate and dismissive.
As a host myself, I understand that problems can happen. What matters is how you communicate with the guest and how you try to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, the customer service in this case was extremely poor.
Between the cleanliness, the non-working massage seat, the excessive fuel consumption, the condition of the vehicle, and the way my concerns were handled, this was not the experience I expected from a vehicle presented as a luxury rental.
I would not rent from this host again.

If you need a truck for the mountains, the GX 550 is by far the best option. Amazing ride great price great host.
