I had a very disappointing experience with this host. I was falsely charged a $154 smoking fee after only having the car for 24 hours, even though I do not smoke.
After I reached out to him directly, he admitted it was a “mistake” and claimed he submitted the claim for the wrong car. That raises serious concerns because submitting a full claim with photos is not something you do by accident. It felt dishonest and unfair he was scamming me .
To make matters worse, this wasn’t my first time renting from him. The first time, the car already smelled like smoke when I picked it up, and I had to wait 30 minutes at his home because the gas tank wasn’t filled. I didn’t complain at the time, but that should have been a red flag.
Now I’m stuck waiting up to 7 days for a refund due to a false claim that should have never been made in the first place.
Overall, this experience felt very unprofessional and misleading. I would strongly advise others to be cautious when booking with this host.
