This rental served its primary purpose, but the experience fell short in vehicle upkeep and clear communication.

Vehicle Condition The car was in clear need of a thorough cleaning and some minor repairs. The exterior rims were dirty, the carpets needed a shampoo, there were splatter stains on the interior ceiling, and food residue/dirt was crusted onto several buttons. Beyond cleanliness, there was noticeable interior wear, including a large rip in the passenger seat and a driver-side window control panel that was lifting out of its housing. Functionally, the A/C took about 30 minutes of continuous driving before it began properly cooling the cabin.

Communication & Host Service Communication could have been handled much better. Just 40 minutes prior to pickup, I received a message stating that the reservation would automatically cancel if I was one hour late. A policy like that should be communicated at least 48 hours in advance. The handover itself was transactional, lacking the hospitable customer service typical of host experiences. Finally, because I picked up the vehicle 1.5 hours late, I verbally requested at pickup to shift my return time by 1.5 hours as well. The host seemed fine with it in person, but follow-up messaging in the app went in circles, ultimately, clarifying there would be an additional charge should I return it 1.5 hours later and there was nothing he could do about it.
