I don’t give less than five stars lightly, but this is one case where I wouldn’t rent the car again.

The exterior has lived an almost legendary life—this is, without exaggeration, the most extensively scratched newer vehicle I’ve ever seen. Although it didn't really affect the driving experience, it goes beyond normal wear and into something closer to a visual case study. That aside, the more practical issues were harder to overlook. The car wasn’t fully cleaned out at pickup; we found shoes, used paper towels, and a small assortment of mystery keys, which made it feel less prepared for a new renter.

More significantly, we confirmed that a NACS adapter would be included, but it wasn’t. As full-time EV drivers, we’re comfortable planning around charging limitations—but that only works with accurate information. Without the adapter, the trip veered closer to “range anxiety experiment” than intended.

Communication mid-trip was also a challenge. When there was a delay in response, the explanation given was that the host had patients that day. I was in town for an internal medicine conference, so I understand how demanding that work can be—but from a renter’s perspective, it’s difficult to reconcile that with timely support during an active rental. If availability is limited, it would be better to set that expectation upfront rather than have guests feel like they’re interrupting.

I understand that hosting on Turo takes effort—I’ve done it myself—and I try to be fair about that. But a clean, empty car, accurate details, and responsive communication feel like baseline expectations. Given these issues, I wouldn’t choose to rent this vehicle again, but I do appreciate the opportunity to rent and sincerely hope this feedback is helpful going forward.

Amatoritsero's response

Thank you for your feedback. I paid $48 to have the car professionally washed before pickup and trusted the cleaning service, so unfortunately I did not personally inspect it afterward. The minor cosmetic scratches occurred when my kids helped remove snow after a heavy snowfall; they are not from an accident or dent. The shoe belonged to a previous guest and was kept in case they returned for it. I was unaware of the tissues. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.
