This is the first negative review I have ever left on Turo, and I do not do so lightly. Unfortunately, my experience renting this 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV was extremely disappointing.
The vehicle was not merely “dusty” as described by the host—it was visibly dirty throughout. Dirt and debris were present on the seats, interior panels, and other surfaces, and it appeared the vehicle had not been properly cleaned before pickup. In some areas, there were even visible dirt smears where an attempt had been made to wipe surfaces down. Photos documenting the condition were provided.
My family and I rented this vehicle for a formal event and were dressed accordingly. Having to sit in a dirty vehicle was embarrassing, unpleasant, and completely inconsistent with the premium experience we expected based on the listing and rental price.
What made the experience worse was the host’s response. Rather than acknowledging the documented condition of the vehicle, the host accused me of attempting to obtain a free rental and characterized my complaint as extortion. I found these accusations offensive, unprofessional, and entirely unwarranted.
I paid a premium price with the expectation of receiving a clean, properly prepared vehicle. Unfortunately, that expectation was not met, and the host’s handling of the situation only added to the disappointment.
Thank you for your feedback. To provide full context: we proactively offered a 20% goodwill discount for the cleanliness concern — no strings attached. You accepted and used the vehicle for the entire trip without requesting early termination. Only after the trip ended did demands escalate to a 100% full refund, with the review explicitly used as leverage to obtain it. This matter has been reported to Turo. — Nancy

Everything was great! I loved the car - spacious, tight turning radius, plenty of power, and amazing acceleration. The host communicated well and was very professional and friendly. Pick up was a breeze. Highly recommend!
