I've been a Turo member since 2023, and this is the first rental that genuinely disappointed me. The car wasn't clean at pickup, but the real problems were mechanical. The steering wheel sits off-center and pulls left — which may explain why, with Autopilot on, we nearly collided with a car in the adjacent lane. The rearview mirror is loose and won't hold its angle, and the plastic panels under both front seats are falling off.
The battery has clearly degraded — it drained noticeably fast, forcing more frequent and more expensive charging stops. This was also the first rental I've had without the charging adapter that comes standard with Teslas. We had free solar charging where we stayed, but without it we paid at charging stations the entire trip.
Communication was not efficient throughout, which made everything harder than it needed to be. I can't speak to this host's other cars, but this Model Y is in poor condition and shouldn't be rented as-is.
