The car was nice and affordable and the host was cool. However this was my first time renting from Turo, the app is not user friendly at all. The process is kind of a pain in the ass but once they verified everything and I paid for the reservation it was all a little smoother sailing. Picking up the car was super convenient and fast with a lock box with keys in it. When it came time to return the car we decided we wanted to extend our trip a few more days. The host said it was available to do so. I tried multiple times abd it kept telling me I was unable to extend my trip even though Michael told me it was available. So I call Turo support and they proceed to tell me that my account has a hold on it but they can't tell me why, other than they need more information to verify my identity. Ummmmm im quite confident all of that was verified before I was even able to make a reservation. Why would they flag my account and block me from being able to make or extend reservations?.???? They tell me in the meantime while some special team does whatever it is they need to do i need to return the car and I cant extend the trip...we were about an hour snd 20 minutes away from they Valley. Sp we haul ass home amd I dropped off the car and got into a lyft to head home. I went straight to bed I was so tired and I woke up yhe next morning and realized I left my phone in the rental. I go back to the parking lot to get my phone and thank God it was there but then u realize I guess I didn't end the trip correctly through the app apparently so then I get late charges. Uugghh!!! Awful awful. Awful Turo!!! Your process for renting cars blows! Michael was great, unfortunately He had no control over the situation as a host so the 3 stars is for Turo but Michael gets 5 stars!!! What is the purpose of all the verification in the beginning if they need more information from u once your rent a car???? LAME!
