Where do I start…

Long story short, I woke up at 6:00 AM to get ready for my reservation 60 minutes away, only to find that the car wouldn’t start. I immediately tried contacting the host, but unfortunately got no response.

To make matters worse, ever since I picked up the car, it would randomly shut off and restart while I was stopped at traffic lights, a major red flag and likely a sign of battery issues. Between that, the car smelling like weed, and ultimately leaving me stranded, this experience was far from what I expected.

The vehicle itself caused multiple issues throughout my trip, and dealing with the host only added to the frustration. I didn’t plan on coming back to Arizona anytime soon, but after this experience, I definitely won’t be booking with this host again.

Maybe I just had bad luck, but I’d recommend booking at your own risk.

The host/owner of the car and the person who dropped off the car are different people. To me, that is not a problem. However, the car smelled like marijuana, bad. Not a simple whiff of it. We travelled north for 3 days and back, and the smell was still strong. The febreze that the guy left told me that he knew it smelled bad. The biggest problem at pick up was also that the guy was running late. We ended up walking in circles trying to follow the GPS to the pick up location until he messaged to say he could not find a spot. That was not the problem but rather his lack of communication shortly before pick up since we were led to believe via the app that the vehicle had been parked already. When we got to the vehicle, he was rushing to clean the dash, unplug stuff and finish his drop off checklist on the app. He failed to inform us where he left the parking ticket, as it’s needed for exit and this particular airport does not have people at the exit booth so you’re on your own if you lost the ticket. Thankfully he replied to inform me where he had left it in the car. Overall, I won’t be renting again from this particular owner as it seems he is not able to manage the amount of cars he has, his employees and the overall basic expectancies of keeping cars in a good condition. The guy who dropped the car off was nice, but clearly not trained well, late for drop off and thus, picking up from our end was stressful, rushed and unprofessional.
