When I booked the car for my trip I made sure the pick up and drop off was at the airport. When we got off our flight the car was not in the parking lot. I messaged the owner and he didn’t answer. I finally had to call him and when he answered (40 minutes later than my rental start time) he said that he did not drop off the car because he was new to Turo and didn’t have a lock box to put the keys in. So he had to pick me and my sons up at the airport and we had to drive back to his personal house to pick up the car. By the time we got to our car we were over an hour behind our original start time. While he was driving in the car he said that he wanted us to drop the car off back at his house and he’ll drive us back to the airport. Before we started back to the airport over 2 hours before we needed to drop the car off I messaged him for the address of where I needed to drop off the car with No response after multiple messages. I finally drove to the airport so we wouldn’t miss our flight and message him when I parked the car and hid the keys. I rented this car through Turo a few months prior to the trip. When I read the rating it said there was 97 trips I see his name. But he said that he was new to Turo and that is why he didn’t have a lock box for the car yet. The car was clean when we got the car but the car smelled like weed even though it was a no smoking car. Definitely not happy with the whole interaction due to multiple inconveniences and the terrible communication.
The car was nice and was clean so no complaints on that, it just smelt bad and the service was not good.
