Unfortunately, the vehicle was not in the condition we expected. It smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, as though someone had been smoking in it shortly before we picked it up. The interior also needed a thorough cleaning, with muddy footprints across the second-row seats and a windshield that was dirty inside and out, making visibility difficult at night.
There also appeared to be an exhaust leak, which made the vehicle extremely loud, especially when the engine was cold. The windshield wipers need to be replaced because they smeared the glass rather than clearing it, and there was no windshield washer fluid. The check engine light was also on.
We notified the host about the smoke odor and possible exhaust leak on the first night. They asked whether we wanted to leave the vehicle, but it was nearly 10:30 p.m., and we did not have another transportation option. As a result, we kept the vehicle for our three-night reservation.
