Confession, this was my first TURO experience and the host and the car were great. The host was extremely responsive and answered my many questions that I had as a newbie. The car was very clean with no over perfumed scents and, thankfully, had a great air conditioner.
To the new comer to TURO, TURO and the host are basically independent of each other. This means communication between you and the host and you and TURO are basically separate even though it is all done through the TURO app.
Be advised that although the posting indicates the car is at PNS, in fact it is not located within the confines of the Pensacola airport. Instead the vehicle is to be picked up in a school parking lot just outside the airport. The charge for the vehicle to be “at” the airport is $70 each way (pick up and drop off). I may be missing something but nowhere in the reservation is this extra $140 expense declared before you contract the car and then you can change the pick up and/or the drop off charging the extra $140. The nuance here is after you land you have to get a ride from the terminal to the school parking lot or pay $70 to take the free airport shuttle to the economy lot. Drop off is the same issue. I had a 6:00am flight so I needed to drop the car off at 4:00am. I was not comfortable dropping off the car and then trying to hail a ride to the airport at 4:00am. So, another $70 to park the car in the economy lot at the airport. I suppose this is the usual way of doing things but at this point I was stuck. I assume the host determines this fee?
Anyway, if you land and depart PNS in more normal hours, hailing a ride service to drive a very short distance to the school parking lot is probably no big deal but in the wee hours of the morning burdened with our luggage and not being familiar with the area or the dependability of securing a timely ride to the the terminal we had to pay the $70 drop off fee.
We had a great trip and our experience was much better than dealing with any of the usual car rentals at the airport (and their many additional fees).

Thanks for the feedback, and I’m glad you had a great trip! I’m sorry for the confusion surrounding the airport delivery charges. For clarification, we charge one $50 fee that covers both airport pickup and return—not $70 each way or $140. I’m unsure where those additional charges originated, as they were not charged by us as the host. Turo Support should be able to clarify. We always want our pricing and pickup options to be clear and straightforward.
Great, amazing!

The vehicle was clean and the host communicated well. Unfortunately, the A/C failed near the end of our trip, which made the two-hour drive back to the airport in Florida summer heat pretty uncomfortable. The host was apologetic and said the A/C had recently been repaired, so it sounds like an unexpected mechanical issue rather than neglect. Just something future renters should be aware of until it's confirmed fixed.

Thank you, Paul. We appreciate your understanding and your honest feedback. We take vehicle maintenance very seriously, and unfortunately this was an unexpected mechanical failure that occurred despite recent service. Once we were notified, we immediately took the vehicle out of service until the issue was repaired. We strive to provide every guest with a reliable, clean vehicle and appreciate you recognizing our communication throughout the trip.
Thanks for a great ride. Accommodating for a family of 5 with alot of luggage

Would rather the pickup location be at the airport than have to uber to my rental car. Otherwise car was clean, drove well. No issues.

Thank you for your feedback. I understand that airport pickup would have been more convenient for your trip. We do offer airport delivery for guests who prefer that option, and it is available during the booking process for an additional fee. While I'm sorry the standard pickup location didn't fully meet your preferences, I appreciate your comments and value the opportunity to host you. Thank you for your business.
