I rented a 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy, and the vehicle itself was clean, well-maintained, and drove great. Everything worked perfectly until I arrived at my first destination in Pismo Beach. After parking and locking the vehicle overnight, I woke up the next morning to find that the battery had completely died.
The biggest issue was that the vehicle only came with a key fob and no physical emergency key. Because the battery was dead, I couldn't access the vehicle until roadside assistance unlocked it. I would strongly recommend that the owner provide a physical backup key or a key fob with an integrated emergency key so renters can access the vehicle if the battery ever fails.
The owner was responsive, understanding, and very helpful throughout the situation. She even let me know that if I experienced any additional issues, I could contact her roadside assistance without any additional cost. I truly appreciated her willingness to help.
Unfortunately, my experience with Turo's roadside assistance was the complete opposite. The representative was rude, unhelpful, and did not make the situation any easier. I was told they could only provide one roadside service at a time, meaning they would unlock the vehicle but would not jump-start the dead battery unless I paid an additional fee. Since I couldn't even access the vehicle because of the dead battery and lack of a physical key, I found this policy extremely frustrating and unreasonable.
Overall, I have no complaints about the owner or the condition of the vehicle. My negative experience was entirely with Turo's customer service and roadside assistance. Because of how this situation was handled, I would hesitate to rent through Turo again, despite having a positive experience with the host.

The vehicle is very spacious. Handles very good especially for a big city. It is equipped with some of the latest technology which made it a joyous experience. I would highly recommend and repeat this experience.
