I rented this Jeep for a trip to Minnesota.
The car drove nicely through the trip and the host’s communication was fantastic. The vehicle was clean and I love when hosts deliver to you. Big perks. There was a slight odor in the Jeep, so I brought a Febreze small space for the drive. That’s an easy fix and not a point deduction.
One massive issue, though - the Jeep’s gas sensor or something within the tank (I am not a mechanic, but that’s what GPT was guessing,) was malfunctioning during the trip. So, to fill up was an absolute nightmare. You had to hold the handle with the tiniest bit of pressure, and even then - it would shut off and you’d have to try to get the angle right again. The first stop (just under half a tank,) took almost an hour because we initially guessed it was the gas station and relocated to different pumps, only to find that it was the Jeep. From there, we had to add extra stops on the trip to fill up every time we were at 3/4 of a tank to avoid another 40 minute trip.
The host gave me a coupon for the next rental and apologized, but it’s important to be clear about possible issues upfront. I really did not enjoy the inconvenience of extra time at the pump, but I appreciate the communication back after I reported it. Another positive note - the host did communicate back quickly when I reported the issue.
Would consider other vehicles in the future based on the host’s communication.
