I almost did not rent with this guy because immediately he started off with a bad attitude just by asking a question about pickup. His prices are over inflated but I needed something immediately so I tried him out. After paying almost $700 for 3 day, the 3rd day I texted him traffic was at a standstill and I told him I was otw but will be late. I also encouraged the late fee to be added for the inconvenience. Immediately after I sent the message he went off on me stating I’m an adult and don’t know how to time management. Even though I can’t predict an accident I apologized. Then he came back with another disrespectful comment and said I know you’ve been smoking weed in my car. I asked what made you think that Sr? He said I know your kind (meaning black). Now, I understand why he was immediately irritated with the question. He does not want any one of color in his vehicle. I explained I have cancer and I do not smoke. He didn’t care, he still kept sending nasty messages until his vehicle was returned. If you are of color, I do not recommend this contractor. He will harass you until you bring his vehicle back thinking you’re doing illegal activities bc of your skin tone. I appreciated his wife, because she did apologize for his behavior but it’s still unacceptable and hurtful to not be given a fair chance because you’re black.
