Rented this car for a weekend trip. Pickup process was smooth and easy, no issues there. The car was clean on the inside.
The real issue started the next day. After multiple normal stops and drives with no incidents, the tire pressure light came on, and shortly after, the tire was completely flat and wouldn’t hold air.
I contacted the host and was asked if I hit something (I didn’t). I was also told the tires were “brand new,” which didn’t match what I later found out.
After checking more closely, I discovered a bulge on the back/inner side of the tire (the side facing the car), which would not have been visible during a normal walk-around inspection. At the tire shop, I was informed the tire already had multiple plugs and showed a manufacturing date from 2023, which does not align with it being “brand new.”
There was also no spare tire in the vehicle, which made the situation more stressful than it needed to be.
Turo roadside assistance directed me to a nearby tire shop to have it repaired.
This could have been avoided with a proper inspection before the rental. Driving on a compromised tire is a serious safety concern.
Overall, the pickup was easy, but the condition of the tire and how the situation was handled completely changed my experience. I would recommend thoroughly checking the vehicle before leaving, especially the tires.
All cars are thoroughly inspected before each trip if a light comes on 24hrs after you received the car the fault lies in the guests hands we are not at fault all tires on this vehicle were new and in great condition prior to your trip if a tire was the issue the last guest or the checkout team would have noticed right away a flat or leaky tire wont allow you to make it anywhere 24hrs later you would know within the 1st hour of the trip
