The vehicle was decent overall, but the rental experience was frustrating due to a clear lack of care from the host.
First, upon pickup, the car had far too many scratches and few dents. Taking pictures of everything was difficult. Worse, the maintenance light was illuminated, which made driving in a new area nerve-wracking.
Second, the host dropped off the car at 10:00 AM for a 5:00 PM reservation. Because it sat in long-term parking for 7 hours prior to my arrival, I was hit with a $15 parking exit fee. Had it been dropped off 1–2 hours prior to pickup, the fee would have only been $5.
Finally, the gas tank was not full at pickup, costing me an extra $12–$15 when I filled it up prior to return.
In total, these unexpected hassles and fees completely negated the ~$35 savings compared to a standard rental company. I would not recommend this host. I would even reconsider If I have to use Turo for future given all the hastles and unknowns
