The pickup and return processes were easy, and the host was responsive during check-in and checkout. He also accommodated my request to return the vehicle a few hours early without any issue.
Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. I messaged the host the day before pickup but did not receive a response. At pickup, I noticed that the license plate did not match the information provided for the trip, which caused some concern.
The vehicle also did not appear to have been thoroughly cleaned. There was a mild but noticeable odor that suggested it may have been smoked in, along with ants in the back seat and coming through the front air-conditioning vents. I notified the host, and he stated that the vehicle had been thoroughly cleaned and that a previous guest may have left food behind. As a former Turo host, however, the condition did not meet what I would consider a thoroughly cleaned vehicle.
I don’t enjoy leaving a negative review, but this was unfortunately a negative experience—especially because I rented the vehicle to evaluate the model as a possible future purchase.
