Great vehicle

The Pros:
The pickup and drop-off processes were straightforward and communication regarding logistics was clear. The vehicle itself was in good physical condition and performed well throughout the trip.
The Cons:
Unfortunately, I had a significant issue with the interior environment and the host's reimbursement policy. Upon entering the car, there was a strong odor of smoke. When I alerted the host, they disclosed that the previous guest had smoked in the vehicle. While I appreciate that they didn't want to cancel my reservation last minute as they stated they were out of cars, this was not disclosed to me prior to arrival. We were forced to keep the car as we had no time to make alternative arrangements, which made for a very uncomfortable driving experience.
Furthermore, there was a lack of transparency regarding a promised reimbursement for airport parking fees. I was told I would be reimbursed for costs over $23. I was charged $46 upon exiting the airport. The host denied the reimbursement because I picked up the car 1 hour and 20 minutes after the scheduled start time (I can’t control flights being on time or not) and cited an undisclosed one-hour grace period. Although the host mentioned they would look into it further, I never received a follow-up or any compensation for the smoke issue nor airport parking reimbursement.
Final Verdict:
While the car itself is nice, the lack of transparency regarding the smoke odor and the rigid, poorly communicated reimbursement policy made this a frustrating experience. I would recommend confirming all "grace period" rules and vehicle cleanliness in writing before starting your trip with this host.
