I rented this 2015 Cadillac Escalade for six days, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience.
The biggest issue was that the rear A/C did not work at all. Even worse, the rear heat would randomly turn on by itself while we were driving in 92°F weather. When I contacted the owner, they admitted they were already aware of the problem but never disclosed it before the trip.
Another feature that didn’t work was the DVD system. The remote was missing or nonfunctional, so my family couldn’t watch movies during the drive, which was one of the reasons we chose this SUV.
The vehicle also had no floor mats whatsoever. I had to borrow mats from my father’s car just to avoid getting the carpet dirty during the rental.
At highway speeds around 70 mph, the SUV developed a noticeable shake, which made the drive less comfortable and raised concerns about the vehicle’s condition.
On top of the mechanical and equipment issues, the owner’s communication was disappointing. I found them to be dismissive and rude when I reached out about the problems.
Overall, I expected a well-maintained vehicle that matched the listing and the price I paid. Instead, I received a vehicle with multiple known issues that should have been disclosed beforehand. I hope these problems are addressed before it’s rented to future guests.
