The car broke down and i missed my doctors appointment

The car was ok when i picked it up. I also uploaded all pictures and made sure to stay in contact with the owner and that everything was ok. As i left the pickup area. I went to my first location and as im leaving the location the passenger side door handle fell off with no type of pulling .. i contacted the owner. He told me to show it the next time it happens. I recorded the video and sent it to him where the handle completely fell off on the floor at Walmart parking lot. He responded a day later . I truly believe the owner knew about it but did not tell us to make it seem like it was us. Or either bc he wanted to cover up to make it seem like he didn’t know about it. This was an inconvience to me due to the fact that i had to constantly go through the driver side and reach over to open the passenger side. It also was hard to place back on each time. And it made me think that i broke it when it wasn’t the case.
