High price, low convenience, and safety concerns!!
I chose this Range Rover for the luxury and convenience of an LAX trip, but the experience was frustrating from start to finish.
The Issues-
Misleading Location: The listing implies an LAX pickup, but you actually have to take a shuttle to an offsite "Budget Parking" lot. This added significant time and hassle to our arrival and departure.
Poor Check-in Experience: Upon arrival at the dark parking lot, the host was unreachable. We had to call and message multiple times before someone finally answered to remotely unlock the car 10 minutes later.
Mechanical/Safety Warning: Immediately upon starting the car, a "Low Tire Pressure" error appeared for the rear right tire. When I contacted the owner, the woman who answered the phone downplayed it, claiming it had just been in the shop and should be fine. We spent our first night stopping at three different gas stations looking for air, only to find broken compressors. We had to spend the rest of the trip worrying about a potential blowout.
Lack of Instructions: There were no clear instructions on how to return the key and lock the vehicle. With a flight to catch and a shuttle waiting, I had to leave the key inside and hope the host would lock it remotely after they failed to respond to my messages in a timely manner.
Host Communication:
When I expressed my disappointment, the host suggested I should have "told him sooner" about the tire. I did—immediately upon pickup. There is clearly a major communication gap between the owner and their team.
Summary: For the price paid, I expected a seamless experience and a vehicle in good maintenance. Instead, I got a logistics headache and a safety concern. I would not book this vehicle again.
I am truly sorry for your experience however it shows that you’re pretty new to the Turo platform. The parking lot that you picked up the car from is actually what is approved by Turo and no host on Turo platform is allowed to deliver to the terminal unlike what you expected from me. As for the pick up experience as mentioned in the messages, we ask you to let us know once you’re on the shuttle so we keep an eye out to unlock the car at the time that you were arriving. This review is not fair
