Turo canceled our car rental just 20 minutes before our flight, so we had to panic and find a last minute car. This was one of the few options available right when we landed.
Initially, the reviews were really positive, with several people mentioning that the car was new, clean, and felt safe. That gave us confidence to book it. Unfortunately, our experience was quite different from what the reviews had described.
The pickup was not ready at 6:30 as we expected, so we had to wait a little. We didn’t mind the wait but the condition of the car was disappointing. As soon as we got in, there was a very strong cigarette smell, as if someone had been smoking in the car. It was really unpleasant and difficult to ignore, but since we had already gone through the trouble of finding a last minute rental, we had to deal with it.
The interior also had stains throughout, including noticeable stains on the ceiling and other areas. Overall, the condition of the car was the complete opposite of what the previous reviews had led us to expect.
Given the circumstances, we were grateful to have a car available at the last minute, but unfortunately, the cleanliness, smell, and overall condition did not meet our expectations.
