The vehicle itself was clean and had a full tank as stated, which I appreciated. However, the pickup experience was frustrating. I arrived at 6:00 AM for my scheduled pickup, but the host did not respond until around 6:30 AM. There were no clear pickup instructions beforehand regarding where the vehicle was located or how to access the key. Once the host replied, I was told where the key was hidden, but it required me to get down on the ground to retrieve it, which was difficult due to a knee injury. I didn’t complain at the time because I was already late for work.
My main concern was the return expectations. I replaced the gas I used, but also had to pay for an additional car wash because of weather and road conditions. Being told there could also be an extra $30 charge if they felt it wasn’t washed enough was excessive. If you’re operating a rental service, some routine cleaning should reasonably be part of doing business. Overall, the car was fine, but the communication and extra expectations made the experience less than ideal.
