The pickup and drop off was fine.. it was at a parking lot near the airport… We picked it up on Thursday… Friday morning “Low Tire Pressure” light came on then went off.. Saturday i contacted the host to let them know as it came on again… they messaged back saying … it happens sometimes due to the weather in California… Went to the gas station put air in it … parked for a hour or so to eat breakfast.. came out to a flat tire… contacted the host … Who immediately said “ You ran over a nail”… We exchanged words for a short moment because i was kind of confused why were pointing fingers without even checking the tire or me giving any other information except the tire is flat… which left me to believe they KNEW something was wrong with the tire when they rented it to us… Nevertheless… they sent an address to a tire shop 3 minutes away… They looked at the tire and said “there is a hole but it can be patched”… I had the phone on speaker to make sure the host could hear the interaction… Host responded oh well you put a nail in the tire… the tire specialist then said i dont see a nail in the tire its just a hole… Host responded “ You must have just ran it over and it fell right out”…. Meanwhile this is Saturday… the low tire pressure light came on Friday morning… I said i don’t believe thats what happen but were sitting here with a flat tire at the shop you suggested what shall we do now… She responded “Oh pay for it and see if turo will reimburse you”…. I called turo to explain and was told to file a damage claim but roadside assistance was included… Paid for the tire just to hang up from them to receive a voicemail stating that “ Hey this is turo calling … Your host Anna reached out and said you put a nail in the tire so you are not eligible for reimbursement… She calls right behind the voicemail and says “ Ashley i never told them that”…. NO ACCOMMODATION OR ACCOUNTABILITY FOR SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS A TIRE… AS WELL AS BEING UNTRUTHFUL… Been using turo for years and i have never encountered anything like this… I would never book with them again
