I rented the jeep from Michael. Prior to the rental he was Johnny on the spot. However, this didn’t last. I messaged him about the pickup location at 7:30am (we didn’t pick it up until 6pm). No response until he’d already delivered it. The wrong location was my fault so I let it slide.
We got to the jeep and we were disappointed that it was dirty, only had 1/4 of a tank of gas and a huge car seat taking up the back where we needed to put luggage.
Asked about the car seat and were told we could drive it 15 mins the opposite direction from our destination and drop it off. We did.
The jeep was fun. Until it wasn’t. The day before our departure I’d driven to my cousin’s college and parked it at a meter for 10-15 minutes. Came back and it would not start. Michael did respond and said there are jumper cables in the back. A student had a charger for the car and we connected that for over an hour. The whole time I’m thinking it’s not the battery. Long story short, after being outside with the jeep for 2 hours I finally called my son to come get me. I left the keys and everything locked up.
Michael got to the car about an hour later. He sent me a picture of the jeep on a tow truck. It was the starter.
This fiasco took a full day of being able to use the vehicle from our rental. No urgency to make it right.
The jeep is fun, but the crazy is not worth it.
I'm sorry you didn't have a 5 star experience as everyone else did. The Jeep wasn't dirty as I washed it right before dropping it to the airport. The paint is slightly faded if that's where your focus was. It is an almost 30 year old vehicle with only 38k miles. I didn't decide when the perfectly working starter quits. I'm happy to make it right for you but this is the first time you're asking for a refund. I dropped everything and drove an hour to you with the vehicle swap, but you already left

The Jeep was a blast to drive around California. The host was very easy to work with and there were not any issues. I hope we get to do it again in the near future!

This ‘98 Wrangler was a blast to drive on the PCH with the top down. Exactly as advertised. No frills but plenty of fun.
