Jon's Subaru Crosstreck was the perfect car for exploring Kauai. Good gas mileage and AWD. Jon made pickup and drop off easy. My first time using Turo and I would definitely use it again.

The car was not new but drove ok so we have not much complaints about the vehicle itself. However, the rental experience was stressful because the host sent frequent messages with detailed reminders about keeping the car perfectly clean, avoiding sand, and following numerous rules.
Since we were vacationing in Hawaii, where visiting beaches is a major part of the trip, avoiding sand completely was nearly impossible. We were already careful and cleaned the car thoroughly before returning it, but we still ended up spending about an hour making sure every bit of sand was removed because we were worried about being charged or criticized.
If you’re looking for a relaxed vacation rental, be aware that this host has very high expectations regarding cleanliness. The car itself was fine, but the constant reminders and pressure took away from the enjoyment of our trip.
