This was a new experience for me, but was very easy. The keys are in a lock box on the rolled up in the window of the car to which you receive a code to unlock. Which you use for drop off as well. Rent Panda Hawaii at Lihue airport on Kauai was very easy to communicate with. The car was clean and easy to pickup and return. I found Uber easy to use on Kauai but if you are going on a hike or one of the adventure rides that require you to drive to it, this is the way to go. The particular car the Kia Soul was small, but four seat, rear storage, good acceleration and good gas mileage, The small size is particularly useful with the small parking spots and side of the road parking in Kauai. I will be back and will be renting form this company again.

The car did its job. When I first picked up the car, it smelled like feet or wet clothes. I started driving and realized the floor mat was covering the accelerator. Luckily, I was still in the parking lot so I could pull over and fix it. If you use Apple CarPlay, the car requires a USB port for connection. There is an issue with the passenger door which I had read about in prior reviews. Before returning, I didn’t want to get charged the $150 cleaning deposit so I took the car to get washed and vacuumed. Under the passenger seat, I found some old things probably from prior to my reservation (dried limu seaweed bag, napkins). I don’t think those were the source of the feet/wet clothes smell. Otherwise, the car was fine. Finding the shuttle pickup at the airport was confusing as there is no signage for Turo anywhere. I messaged the host and they sent a link with a shuttle tracker and map so I knew where to wait and how long it would be for the next shuttle. I would highly suggest this be shared with car renters pre-travel if there’s no Turo signage allowed at the airport.
