Mahalo, Angel! So glad you had fun in the Eclipse. Just a fun fact this EV's got a 355-mile range, right in line with a standard gas vehicle, so there's plenty of juice to explore the island. Charging here does look a little different than what you might be used to, and I provide a full guide with apps and locations to make it easy for guests during their trip. Thanks for being a great guest!
The host was incredibly gracious and very nice. I had no problem with her. The use of an EV vehicle on the island is not very advantageous. I missed out on spending quality time with some friends because the mileage counter for the battery was not accurate, even when driving very conservative. Upon needing to charge, the home charger could not be easily plugged in at our Airbnb. Even when charging in the wall, it was very very slow. I had to drop the vehicle off at a Level 2 charger and get a ride back to let it sit all night for a charge. You have to download app(s) for the chargers in order to try and save some money and make it easier but at the end of the day, the charge process if VERY slow. Without DC Level 3 charging, it's hard to justify using an EV on Kauai. It actually is hard to give this a 3 star because the host was awesome. Great communication and prompt. It's just the use of an EV here on the island as a Turo rental.

Mahalo for your feedback! This rental works best with accommodations that offer charging, most guests do great topping off overnight! Kauaʻi relies mainly on Level 2 charging, so it takes a bit more planning, if there's no charging at your accommodations. I give guests a charging guide, recommended apps, and station locations, plus help troubleshooting anytime.
The Good news: the island's first Level 3 (DC fast) charger arrives in early 2027, with more to follow!
Host had great communication. Wish there were faster charge stations as our hotel the Hilton did not have a charger. Made it difficult.

Car and host were awesome, but was difficult fining functional (or efficient) charging stations on this island. Probably could work if you are staying somewhere where you can charge it overnight!

Great car, great service thank you so much!
