The jeep was perfect to cruise around the island and it was great on gas too! Great host would highly recommend

We are very disappointed with the car and service from Nathaniel and Akamai Kauai Rental. The car was very dirty, seats stained, dents and dings all over and worst of all the armrests were duct taped. Yeah, duct tape. The tape was bad enough but it was curling up so it had been there a while and not a good look or comfortable when resting your arm. We started up the vehicle and the engine was "ticking" and we were concerned that we may get stranded somewhere. When I shared the photos and a video of the engine ticking Nathaniel responded, it was normal on all jeeps. I know for a fact that is not true as we have rented many jeeps and my brother is a mechanic of 40 years and stated the same. We asked to swap out the jeep for another one and Nathaniel stated he didn't have one but we can leave it in the lot and find another one somewhere else. So we are left with our luggage in a parking lot 3 miles from the airport? The right thing to do is offer to swap out the vehicle when he has another one available and offer to pick up this one and drop off another at our condo. He could care less and made excuses for the condition of the vehicle. Not professional or accommodating. This is "false advertising" as the photos he listed do not show any of the wear and tear and we would have never rented it if we had known the true horrible condition of this vehicle. We will never rent from Nathaniel again and we visit the islands several times a year. I encourage others who plan to rent from Nathaniel and Akamai Kauai Rental to ask for present day photos and condition.

Some guests are impossible to please. I’m sorry you weren’t happy but you rented a 6 year old car and expected to be new for discounted price? You had the car for a week without issues and you drove it all over the island. I suggest you rent new vehicles. As far as this vehicle goes it’s in good running condition with normal wear that rentals receive on this island. Mahalo for your buisness
Host and pick up location was great and very responsive.
Jeep did make it the whole trip but it does have a lifter tick in the engine and shows signs of wear.

Nathaniel’s Jeep was just what we were looking for to get around beautiful Kauai! He was extremely communicative and helpful throughout the entire process! Highly recommend!
