The car drove well, but the windshield wiper fluid turned the low light on after using it once. On top of that there were more things I found wrong with the car itself I think should be addressed:
- speakers worked on and off, sometimes it would play audio well, and more times it would sound super muffled and poor, even after troubleshooting.
-the display screen is sun-burnt, it’s hard to view the screen, especially when trying to use the reverse camera.
-the keys wouldn’t lock and unlock on the first click, I’d have to press the button multiple times for it to lock and unlock.
-the center arm piece was visibly damaged and attempted to be fixed but still felt uncomfortable to rest on.
Other than that, the car blew nice cold A/C and was a relatively comfortable car to drive around with no concerns of it breaking down :)

Really good experience with the Subaru Crosstrek. The car is a 2017 model and naturally shows some signs of age, but overall it was in good condition, reliable, comfortable, and drove very well throughout our trip.
We took it on the Road to Hana and also drove up to the Haleakalā summit for sunrise. It handled both trips really well — winding roads, climbs, descents, and braking were never a problem. We drove to Hana and back without any issues.
There were a couple of minor things, like some wear inside and one of the speakers occasionally making a little noise, but nothing that seriously affected our experience.
For the price, it’s a very convenient and practical car for exploring Maui. We had no mechanical issues during the trip and would happily rent it again. Great value overall and an easy five stars from us!
