The turo car was great but I rented from a host who had me pick up the car in Kapa'a, which was a $50 ride share trip away from the airport, because the car was not available at the shuttle.parking lot. I wax a first time user of turo and did not recognize that my pickup location was not the Turo shuttle airport parking lot. Make sure that your car is at the airport not at the car owner's place to avoid the extra cost. The Kia Sorrento was great for getting around the island of Kauai for four adults. The 2 grown kids ended up renting their own car due to the lack of leg room in the far back seat. It would probably be fine for small kids & was adequate for luggage for 4 people, but not six.

The home location set up for the customer that are already on the island.
There are options for the customer’s convenience pick up and drop off according their locations.
If they are just flying in to the airport then it’s best to pick up and drop off at LIH airport as the shuttle will take the customers to turo parking lot where the car will delivered and parked.

We had some issues accessing the vehicle when we arrived. Our flight had been delayed due to weather so we arrived late. Unfortunately, we were not able to access the car when we arrived. When we contacted Turo help, they indicated that we were late and would likely be charged as a no-show. This was extremely frustrating. While we were eventually able to access the car, it made for a pretty nerve racking experience.
I would recommend some detailed communications be provided on how to access the vehicle if you should arrive late.
And for the Turo help team…I don’t think you should ever start talking about a customer being charged as a no-show…especially when I had already messaged the owner earlier in the day about boarding the flight and being on the way. I had my family in a parking lot in unfamiliar territory in the rain with no transportation locked out of a car I was late to pick up.
Won’t use Turo again.
